Olusegun Okubanjo | Managing Partner
Olusegun has over 20 years of experience in wealth management and investment banking and is skilled in crafting and implementing sophisticated financial solutions to the uniquely complex personal and corporate investment structures that are typical of the entrepreneurial clients in emerging Africa. Prior to joining OBSIDIAN, Olusegun was Executive Director, Africa at UBS, London. He began his career with ARM Investment Managers, Lagos and went on to head the West Africa offshore private client divisions at Standard Bank and Renaissance Capital and led a team covering West Africa at Barclays Wealth in London. Olusegun has a BSc in Business Administration and an MBA in International Business from the Gardner School of Business & Technology, Wayne State College. He studied Law (Juris Doctor) at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, London. Olawole Shojobi | Associate Partner
Wole has over 10 years experience in project finance and investment management with a concentrated focus on infrastructure finance in Power and Oil & Gas projects as well as greenfield project debt and capital financing. Wole is also skilled at project development and investor relationship management. Before joining OBSIDIAN, Wole was a Director at Greenstone Capital Partners where he led the Project Development team, the Advisory business and Investment Management. Wole started his career at the Lloyds Banking Group on the Infrastructure Project Finance team. He later joined General Electric’s Project Finance team where he covered Sub-Saharan Africa. Wole has a BSc in International Business from the University of West of England, Bristol and a Masters degree in Investment Management from London School of Business and Finance. |
Louis Johnson | Partner
Louis has over 21 years experience in investment banking and corporate finance - particularly mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and privatisations in emerging Africa. Louis has worked on infrastructure projects - primarily working with sovereigns in Africa over the past 10 years. Before joining OBSIDIAN, Louis was a Director at Barclays Capital, New York where he was responsible for leading the structured finance and project finance teams. Louis started his career with Deutche Morgan Grenfell and has led structured finance teams at Salomon Brothers and JP Morgan. Louis holds a BSc in Finance from the University of Nebraska, Omaha and an MBA in Accounting Information & Management from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Miles Bennett | Associate Partner
Miles has over 15 years experience structuring and executing asset and guarantee backed debt capital market solutions for energy and infrastructure assets located in frontier markets. He has experience financing thermal and renewable power infrastructure projects - mainly in solar, hydro, wind and biomass. Prior joining OBSIDIAN, Miles was a Vice President at SMBC, London where he worked on structuring and financing traditional and alternative power infrastructure projects. He started his career on the graduate programme at Goldman Sachs & Co in London and later worked with Lehman Brothers in New York. Miles has an LLB, Law from the University of Leicester and a Masters in Finance from London School of Economics and Political Science. |
